Commercial type of scaffold
- Putlog Scaffold/independent scaffold consists of single row of standards connected together
longitudinally by ledger and braces, with putlog having one end fixed to
the ledger and the other end built into or resting on the wall of the building of structure.
- Birdcage Scaffold has many rows of standards. It is a type of scaffold that is used mainly
for ceiling works.
- Tube and Coupler Scaffold was set by individual circular tubes as standard,
brace, and ties

- "A" Frame Scaffold assembled from the prefabricated frame and bracing
General design and setup
General design of scaffold must be considered in
- Strength, stability and rigidity of the support structure
- Handling normally associated with scaffolding
- Personal safety
- Erecting, altering, dismantling
- Using of scaffold
- Vicinity scaffold
Design load will include dead load (weight of components), environmental load,
and live load (person 80Kg, amterials, and tools)
- Light load 225 kg/bay for electrican, painter, light duty maitenance
- Midium load 450 kg/bay for carpenters, plasterers, glaziers
- Heavy load 675 kg/bay for bricklayers and stone mason
Load distribution to the floor
The scaffold must be safely erected upon the support capability of the ground.
